Thyri Bainter, along with her husband Olin, opened the Squeeze Inn Café in 1932. It had one counter and was only 8 feet wide. In 1943 The Squeeze Inn expanded into the space it occupies now. Ted Bainter, son of Thyri and Olin, along with his wife Marge, took over the business in 1951. Together they transformed it into a family friendly Restaurant and Lounge known all around the Yakima Valley for their famous Prime Rib.
Rod Bainter, youngest son of Ted and Marge, started working at the Squeeze Inn as a teenager. He later took over the business with his wife Renee and ushered it into a new era known as the place to go for good friends and great food. Due to an economic downturn in 2006 they had to close. From 2008 to 2014 they have been operating as an Event Center/Catering. As of January 2015 the Squeeze Inn has reopened to the public on a limited basis. Today Rod & Renee run the business with the help of their two daughters Beth and Laura. The Squeeze Inn is open Thursday-Saturday 4pm-9pm for Dinner.
Our Dinner Menu still features our Famous Slow Roasted Prime Rib Dinner which includes a Shrimp Cocktail and a Garden Salad topped with fish crackers...a tradition started by Marge Bainter in 1972. You may want to pre-order when making a reservation, we tend to sell out fast!
